WOW!!!

Hallo Leute:)

Wow! Vor mehr als einem Jahr bin ich von Utah nach Hause (?) geflogen. Am 8.6.2014!!
Ich weiß, ich weiß...ich bin eine der schlimmsten Bloggerinnen aller Zeiten;) Ich hab gerade gesehen, dass ich noch einen Post - Entwurf habe von den letzten Schultagen...Oops :D
Falls jemand gerne mehr darüber hören würde - gibt es Leute die diesen Blog lesen?? - einfach in die Kommentare schreiben und ich werde mein Bestes tun:)
Ich kann aber schonmal sagen, dass die letzten Tage nicht so schön waren... Also eigentlich waren sie super-hammer-geil, weil ich viel mit Freunden und meiner Gastfamilie machen konnte.
Trotzdem: Dieser Gedanke daran, dass man nur noch wenige Tage in einem Leben hat, das man oft vermissen wird, ist immer da gewesen und zieht einen zugegeben ein bisschen runter... Es stimmt nunmal, dass so ein Auslands-Jahr nicht einfach ein Jahr in einem Leben ist, sondern ein Leben in einem Jahr!

Diesen Spruch hört man als Austauschschüler sehr häufig. Hauptsächlich von Leuten, die schon ein Auslandsjahr hinter sich hatten (im positiven Sinne) ;) Ich dachte dann immer: "Das ist doch übertrieben!" oder "Man ist doch nur ein Jahr weg..." oder aber auch "Wie dramatisch!".
Tatsache ist: Es ist durchaus dramatisch und man ist nur ein Jahr weg, aber es ist verdammt noch mal wahr!!
Man trifft in diesem Jahr Leute, die man am Liebsten im Koffer nach Hause schmuggeln möchte, und welche die man eher im Koffer ins Weltall schießen möchte.
Man kommt in eine völlig fremde Familie und fühlt sich nach 1 Jahr, als wäre man schon ewig Teil der Familie.
Man lernt Land & Leute kennen und lieben!
Man regt sich zunehmend über Vorurteile über das Gastland auf, bemerkt jedoch auch Vorurteile des Gastlandes über das Heimatland.
Man lernt neue Dinge und erkennt verborgene Talente (und auch Schwächen).
Man lacht und weint - miteinander und auch allein.
Zusammengefasst verbringt man ein ganzes Jahr in einem fremden Land, das nach spätestens 1 Jahr  eine zweite Heimat ist.

Es ist jetzt, wie gesagt, schon  beinahe 2 Jahre her, dass ich in Utah angekommen bin und schon ein Jahr her, dass ich wieder in Deutschland gelandet bin. Ich bin alt. :D
Über dieses letzte Jahr hinweg habe ich viel darüber nachgedacht, was mir das Auslandsjahr gebracht hat. Es ist schwer zu sagen: Man verändert sich quasi komplett aber bleibt trotzdem ganz man selbst.
Das klingt vermutlich sehr merkwürdig und verwirrend..sorry:)
Ich meine, nach dem Auslands-Jahr versucht man beide Leben zu verbinden. Man versucht Traditionen aus dem Gastland aufrecht zu erhalten, will aber nicht Traditionen aus dem Heimatland verdrängen.

Ich weiß gerade echt nicht, wie ich es ausdrücken soll...

Man darf es jetzt allerdings nicht falsch verstehen!!! Ein Auslandsjahr ist das Beste auf Erden!!! Es war die beste Entscheidung meines Lebens (bis jetzt;)) für ein Jahr "auszuwandern":) Ich würde es wieder tun wenn ich könnte...

Diesen Sommer fliege ich mit meiner Familie für 3 Wochen zurück in die USA. Ich freu mich so!! Es ist wie nach Hause kommen;)
Wir gucken uns erst NYC an und fliegen dann weiter in den Westen, nach Las Vegas, und von dort aus klappern wir gefühlt alle "National Parks" ab die es gibt :D Und natürlich fahren wir auch nach San Francisco und LA!
Aber am Meisten freu ich mich auf das Wiedersehen mit meiner wundervollen Gastfamilie - meine Familie ist natürlich auch wundervoll;). Wir verbringen 6 Tage (?) in Newcastle und ich freue mich riiiiesig :)
Vielleicht gibt es dann darüber auch einen Post für euch;) Wenn irgendjemand meinen Blog liest natürlich :D Mal sehen...;)

Ich wünsche euch allen eine wunderschöne Woche mit gaaaanz viel Sonne:)

Spring Break :)

Hey guys :)

Here's a post that I started but never finished.. Sorry about that :)
Its about Spring Break and most of Spring Break was just sleeping, working on our yard and driving around through the middle of nowhere ;)
Here it is:

"Today is the first day of school after Spring Break... But it has been a good day so far ;)
Last week, we only had to go to school on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday we could sleep in and enjoy the nice weather ;P On Wednesday I started to color easter eggs with some friends. Did you know that the easiest way to draw stuff on the egg is to use a sharpie (edding)??? Its way easy and the tip of the sharpie is thin enough to actually draw something pretty ;) On Thursday we worked in the garden. We weeded everything the weekend before, so we could plant some flowers and other plants on Thursday. On Friday we went to St. George, the closest bigger city, and went to the nursery (garden center) again. You could buy a little cup of ladybugs there, so we bought one because they eat the bugs which are bad for your plants. My little host brother, he's 4, was holding the cup and kind of playing with it. Then the lid popped of and he dropped the cup on accident. We were in our car in the middle of the road, trying to get about 200 ladybugs out of our van."

Yep. That was fun...^^ We will never buy ladybugs again, that's for sure :D

I'm not dead, just busy... ;)

Hey guys!!! 

I'm truly sorry that my last post was published about 3 months ago :( That's a quarter of a year!!!! I looked back and saw that I posted something almost every week in November. I'll try to keep that up, since I only have 2 months left... :/

I'm sure many things happened, but I won't remember everything. Maybe the people I told things that I can't remember now, will be so kind and write it down there in the comments?;) 

In March, we went to Disneyland. I don't think that I have to write a lot about it, so let's just move on...

Just kidding!!!! :D Okay. We left on a Thursday, so I missed 2 days of school. We left at 4 in the morning and we (except my host dad, the driver) pretty much slept the whole ride (8 hours). We only woke up once to leave the car for breakfast. We arrived at the beach near Anaheim, California, at noon and spent 4 hours there, playing, digging in the sand, having mud fights and so on... Then we went to "In 'n' Out Burger", which is the typical American fast food restaurant. If you go to America, you have to go to In 'n' Out. Otherwise, you can't say that you've been to America!!! They only have Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Double Cheeseburger, Chicken Nuggets and Fries there. That's it!!! They didn't change their menu since the 1950s. It's awesome (and delicious ;) ). After we were done eating, we went to the house we rented for those 3 days. We spent the rest of the day at the pool and the whirl pool, reading and having fun. At night we played pool billiard. The next day, we went to Disneyland and you can describe it with one simple word: WOW!!!!! I mean...It's freaking DISNEYLAND!!! It looks like a little town and it has all those characters, including Micke Mouse, Chippendales, Goofy, Donald Duck and so on...and you can take pictures with them!!! Then they have tons of shops where you can buy Mickey Mouse ears, hoodies, shirts, stuffed animals (hehe...) and more "necessary stuff". They have lots of fun rides, but most of the rides are for little kids. My favorite ride was probably "Indiana Jones" or "Splash Mountain". After Lunch - we brought sandwiches, string cheese and fruits and veggies - we went to California Adventure, which is a huge amusement park right next to Disneyland. By the way! It's smart to bring your own food because the food there is way expensive!!! Especially, if you have are with a big group ( we were 13 people). California Adventure was AWESOME!!! The best thing is "Soarin' over California". It's like a 4D movie theater, where your seats are lifted up and you see a huge screen which is Iike a globe. It really looks and feels like you're soaring over California ;)

We spent the whole day going on rights and at night, we watched the Disneyland parade, where they have all the parade wagons with the characters. Every "story" has its own wagon.

The next day, we only went to California Adventure. One reason was that 2 of my younger host sisters were performing with their dance group in California Adventure. California Adventure is owned by Disney, so it's practically "Disneyland 2.0". We spent the whole day there and at night we watched the "World of Color" show. It's on a the lake in California Adventure and it has colorful water fountains and the story of Arielle and music and all the awesome stuff!!! Then we went on rides in both Disneyland and California Adventure again and then home. We were home way late, so I struggled setting my alarm for the next day. I felt like a dying person and my phone (alarm clock) was my remedy. I literally tried to crawl over my bed to my phone, but fell asleep (or passed out?) on my way there. When I finally reached my phone, I fell asleep while setting my alarm. Then I started to set random alarms for the next day at 5:43 pm and 8:32 pm and so on... I think it took me about 1 hour to set my alarm. Then I fell asleep with the light on and the fan off...of course!!! So I woke up in the middle of the night after dreaming I was in a tropical forest, blinded by the sun...it wasn't really a dream! My room was freaking hot and humid and the lights were blinding me, so I opened the window and stuff and fell asleep after another 2 hours...It was the best night of my life!! (Uhm...sarcasm...)

The next day, we went to Disneyland again, but only to Downtown Disney, which is a part of Disneyland where you can buy Disney stuff and Build a Bear and you can buy food and smoothies and so on. We headed at about 1 pm. 

That's it!! That was Disneyland!! :) It's an absolute "must seen"!! If you have the possibility to go there, take it!! It's an once in a lifetime experience! First, I wanted to stay home because I didn't want to miss my school's talent show because some of my friends were performing there and one of my best friends was hosting the whole talent show, but it was worth missing it!!!!

The weekend before Disneyland, I went to my first high school dance EVER!!! I went to the dance with one of my best guy friends. First we went on a day-date with 2 other "couples". We went to a park in Cedar City, where we went on a walk first and then had lunch. After lunch we played bocci ball ("boccia") and we had a competition with chalk. No one really knows who the winner is, but...I think that we all won;) After drawing with chalk, we did the funnest thing ever!!! We had a paint slide!! We just took a plastic table cloth and pinned it to the grass, then we put "washable" (haha) paint on it. One by one, we ran and then slid across the painted table cloth. After all the paint was gone, we started to chase each othe, trying to give each other a wet paint-hug and hand prints. Then we threw the little paint bottles at each other, trying to get the last drops of paint out of every single one. After the day date, I went to one of my best friends' house to get ready. Of course, I got an epic sunburn and looked like a lobster on my first school dance..but it's alright :D My best friend covered the sunburn in my face with make up, so you could just see it on my arms;) One of the other girls' mom picked me up and then we picked my date up an went to the other girls' house to take pictures. After taking thousands of pictures, we went to dinner at "Chilis".yumm...:) After dinner, we went to the dance, where we took more pictures (professional) first. They turned out really funny!!! The group picture was cute and our couple picture was hilarious!!:D then we danced until 11:30 pm and went home:) it was a looking day and that weekend was summer savings time, so we got even less sleep :( Worth it!!:)

Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah and a Happy New Year!!! I'm so, so sorry that I didn't write the whole December and during the Holidays:( But it was the busiest time here so far and I have been sick a lot. Ear infection, cold, bronchitis, new allergy... But I'm better now, if anyone would like to know that ;P

So.... Christmas was awesome!!! On Christmas Eve we went to two Christmas parties:o Both were pretty awesome! At the first party, I didn't really know that many people, but at the second one I knew everyone. The second was the best! We played so many fun games, like a game were a lot of people are sitting in a circle and there's a bowl of M&M's in the middle and everyone gets a small empty bowl and a straw. Then one person starts to roll two dice at the same time. If that person gets a pair, he/she has to grab the bowl of M&M's and tries to suck all M&M's with the straw into his/her own bowl. But as soon as anyone else rolls a pair with the dice, the other person gets the big M&M's bowl:) It's way fun!!

On Christmas Day, my 9-year-old host sister woke everyone up at 4:50 am!! She said that she had a bad dream, but I think that she just couldn't wait it open her presents ;) So everyone HAD TO get up and go into the downstairs living room and the stockings were opened before my host parents could even make it down the stairs :D The stockings just had some candy and toys in it. My stocking didn't have that many toys, but about 3 small notebooks because "Santa" knows that I always forget everything;P Then we opened our other presents. I got an iPad mini and I still CANNOT believe that I can really keep it!! I also got a scarf, a New England Patriots blanket and earrings and some gift cards:)) From my parents I got wonderful Christmas cards (Thank you, guys!!!:)) ) and chocolate and I got an awesome Christmas card from my grandma (Thanks, Oma!!!:)) ). The letter from my brother still didn't arrive yet, what makes me kind of sad :(

But Christmas was still pretty great!!:)

On New Years Eve, we - my host family and me - went over to a friends' house to celebrate New Year there. There was also a church party with a dance, but I didn't want to go first. After a little while, everyone pretty much convinced me to go there because I would have a blast and there was no one my age at the friends' house, so my Momma drove me down to the Church. After I spent 1 hour at the Church dance, I realized that I just wanted to spend the last hour of the year 2013 with my "American family":) So I texted my Momma and asked, if she could pick me up. Unfortunately, she has the "Do not disturb" mode on her iPhone activated, so she didn't get my text and also didn't answer, when I called her. By the time, I just wanted to be with my "family", so I decided to walk home. The friends' house is somewhere in the mountains, but I knew the way. I wasn't really sure, if I was gonna arrive before midnight or not, which stressed me out. So I started to walk in my skirt and without a coat through the cold, DARK night.. I got so scared after a while, so I just started to sing some songs and I prayed a few times ;) At 11:45 pm - I was almost home - my Momma finally got my text and told me that she would come and get me. I just texted back that I was on my way and almost there, but she didn't read that text, so she was driving down the road and when she saw me, she was so scared and started to feel bad. I think, at that moment, she really thought that I lost it because I was sitting in the van, smiling like crazy, even though I couldn't feel my legs :D I was just happy to be almost home and the long walk home gave me strength, if that doesn't soon too weird. It was one of those (spiritual) experiences that you just HAVE TO make!! 

When we got home, it was almost midnight, so we gathered around the Christmas tree outside and popped some weird little fake bottles and lametta flew out of them. Then they tried to set the tree on fire, but it didn't really work out. 

But...Yeah...That was the end of my year 2013 and it was one of the best New Year's Eves EVER!!!!:)

The school is still pretty AWESOME, but it's kind of sad that the first semester is over now :(

If you guys read my blog and you have questions about anything, you can just ask. If you don't want to write it down in public, I'll probably give you my Email address or Facebook name.:) I know what you guys must feel like right now. Most of you probably don't have a family, yet. I wish I could tell you something like "I promise you that you'll get your host family tomorrow", but the sad thing is that I can't - no one can. But I can tell you one thing:" The time that you're spending on waiting for your host family is definitely worth it. You're gonna become more patient and you'll learn so much about yourself. Sometimes you might think:"Why am I doing that? It's gonna take forever!" Don't ever give up!! I got my host family at the beginning of August (August 4?) and my flight was booked for August 8, so it came very rapidly!!! The end of August sounds like a long time, but it's not too bad!:) I know that probably everyone told you that, but it's true: Americans are very, very spontaneous!! And I love it:)) I also know from other exchange students that South Americans are quite spontaneous too, so DON'T WORRY, BE HAPPY and enjoy the rest of your "waiting time". It's worth it:)"

Thanksgiving!!! :).....Finally ;)

Good ev'ning, people!! :)

It's 11:30 at night and "Turkey Day" is almost over. Its way late and I'm kind of tired, but I think I'll have forgotten everything that happened today, by tomorrow ;P 

I woke up at 8 am this morning (that's sleeping in, if you have 4 little host siblings!!) and got ready. After breakfast, my host mum and my host sisters and me made a "Veggie Turkey". It's a vegetable tray, but it looks like a turkey..I'm sorry! I really don't know, how to describe that, so here:

That's our turkey :) We left the house at noon and went to "Grandma Janet's" house and then we started eating at 1 pm after we blessed the food. We had pretty much EVERYTHING!! There was turkey, corn, rolls, mashed potatoes & gravy, yam, ham, salad, shrimps,...and so on!! After that we sat down and watched football, most of the people were just chatting :) Then at 3 pm we had dessert. We had Pumpkinpie, Apllepie and Pecanpie. :) We just ate A LOT!!! ;) After dessert we were talking and laughing even more and we all had weird feelings in our stomachs. I felt like I had to throw up for a second, but after a few minutes I wasn't even sure, if I was hungry or not :D it was just...weird!! And that's what Thanksgiving is all about: Eating, more eating, watching football, sleeping, eating, talking, football, sleeping....eating :D Really, though!!!

We left Grandma Janet's house at 5 pm to go to Grandma Bea's (great-grandma's) house. All the other people were gone and we just picked up the "Squash-pie" that she saved for one of my host sisters :) Finally we went home and just wanted to sleep or give our bodies a rest...because we were eating so much :D..., but then more and more people can and left at 11 pm :)

So...It was a very busy day. :)

I'm just so thankful for my family and friends in Germany, for my American family and friends and just for being here with awesome people that accept everyone and love everyone unconditionally! I love you guys!! :)

Happy Thanksgiving! ;)

Hey guys :)

I didn't really have the time to and didn't feel like writing a new post. I don't really know what's new. 

My host uncle caught a racoon and now he's in a cage in our garden. We have two hound dog puppies and they had to sit next to the cage and they were barking at the racoon the whole time, so they'll get practice. The racoon looks so cute and first I felt sorry for it, but it's a brat!!! It's so dangerous! Two grown-up hound dogs can't even kill it!!! :o 

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving!!! I'm so excited!!! My first Thanksgiving ever :)) On Friday, Clara and me will have a sleepover :) I'm just sooo excited!! 

I'm sorry, but that's basically everything I can tell you guys right now!! I will tell you everything about Thanksgiving in a few days, though :)

BYU football game, penguins and a sleepy head ;)

Hey guys :)

Another week is over now :( I'm watching the Broncos game right now and decided to write a new post because they're winning anyways! :D They're playing against the Kansas City Chefs and the score is 24:10 for the Broncos ;) 

My host mom had a knee surgery on Friday and my host dad is turning into a "mom" ;) On Friday he vacuumed the whole house and he loved it, yesterday he cleaned the fridge and he made me a huge lunch bag for the football game :D It's kind of scary, though ;P That night I stayed up too late because I went to bed at around midnight and I had to stand up at 6:30 am to get ready for the BYU game in Provo :) On Saturday, we met at church at 8 am and left the church at about 8:30 am to drive up north to Provo, which is almost clear up in Salt Lake City. We had to drive 4 hours and when we arrived in Provo it started to rain. It was super cold!! Then we found our seats and the game started a little while after that. After 5 minutes of the 1st Quarter it started to snow and it became even colder :D After 5 minutes it was snowing so much so that we weren't really able to see the field! And instead of "blue and white"-dressed people, you could only see white-dressed people. We could proudly call ourselves "snowmen" :)

My new coat is the opposite of waterproof. The only dry spot on my body was the part of my head, which was covered by my hat!! The blanket, I brought had dog hair on it, so stank like wet dog after sitting in the falling rain an snow for a while! We left the football game after the first 5 minutes of the 3rd Quarter because we were drenched, cold and just done with the weather. It was kind of funny, when we tried to walk. I seriously wasn't able to feel my legs from my knees down, so I couldn't move my toes or feet. Clara and McKenna had the same problem an I'm pretty sure that we looked like penguins, walking down the stairs. We wanted to run because that's what you wanna do, if your cold, but it wasn't possible because of the following points:

1. We didn't want to break a leg..or two.

2. We didn't want to brae an arm..or two.

3. We didn't want the people to laugh at us.

We didn't want the people to laugh at the "3 drenched penguins, crawling on the ground, trying to stand up" (Synonym: "us").

4. We couldn't really walk that fast.

5. I think that I told you guys enough reasons now! 

Then we had to walk 15 minutes to our car. It was one of the longest walks in my whole life! When we saw the car, we were so excited that we started to run and we figured out that penguins don't really HAVE TO fly because they can run fast when they see the "finish line" (Synonym: "car") ;) The we just sat in the car for a long time. One reaon was the excitement about getting warmer, the other reason was that we couldn't really drive because the driver's fingers were literally frozen! :D After we finally started driving, all of us had to go to the bathroom very bad...apparently ;) So we stopped at the next gas station, but they only had only ONE toilet for each gender!! So two of us had to go to the men's bathroom, which was kind of bad because we all know what men's bathrooms can look like... ;P

After a one-hour-drive, we stopped at "5 Bucks Pizza" where we ordered 30 pizza because the whole day was a Young Women's and Scouts' activity and there was a total of 45 people. Our car was the first one that arrived, so we got the best seats ;) After dinner, we started our journey home. Most of the time we were asleep on each other's shoulders because we were shivering the whole day long and we had a huge dinner! I got home at like 8 pm and I was super tired!! I went to the downstairs living room, where my host fam wa watching Wrestling together my some friends (It was "Wrestling Night"). There was no space on the couch, so I was just kneeling on the ground behind the couch and putting my head on the backrest of the couch. I had my hands under my head and a hand warmer between hands and head. It was so comfy, even though I was kneeling on the ground, that I fell asleep after a few seconds. I woke up 1 or 2 minutes later because my host mom and her best friend we're taking pictures of me, sleeping in this funny position. My host mom just told me that I fell asleep three more times after that. I can't remember that, but I totally believe her because I was REALLY tired! So I went to bed at 8:30 pm an got about 12 hours of sleep before I had to wake up for church :) When I woke up, I was still tired, so I took a two-hours-nap after church. We stayed at church longer than usual today because one of my host cousins is going on a mission next week (right before Thanksgiving :( ) and he had to speak in "Sacrament meeting" and we had a huge lunch after church. After I took a nap I was still tired, so I just blamed my tiredness on the tetanus shot I got on Wednesday ;) And now I'll go to sleep again because it's 11 pm and I'm almost dying!! :)

Oh, man!! I dont really have so much more ideas about how to start my post. Choosing the title is hard too. I'm just getting weird ;)

Okay. So... Today's topic is.. Just kidding! :D Nothing really happened. This week was kinda like normal, even though I thought that I would never use the word "normal" while I'm here! Never! So so.. It just happened :D I bet that most of you will become impatient right now and will think something like "what's your point? Just say it!" and to be honest.. I kinda like that feeling :D Not to be mean, but I think it's hilarious! :) Okay. But I don't really want you to be upset or something, so I'm gonna tell you something about my "normal week" :)

The Monday was "Veteran's Day" and we had an assembly, where one student's dad was talking about his time as a military pilot. It was an amazing story. At the beginning, our Madrigals choir was singing "The Star-Spangled Banner" (National Anthem) and it was so touching because we had to soldiers, holding the flag of the USA and a flag with the president's seal on it. Then we all said the "Pledge of Allegiance" :) Amazing!!! :) In Choir we learned a new song called "We're his gold" and it's my favorite one for the Christmas Concert!! :)) (Listen to it!!)

The Tuesday was awesome,too, because I got a 94% on my test in "Human Biology" :)) The best one was 96%, the 2nd-best es me and the rest had something about 38%, 56% and something like that. So.. I'm kind of proud!! ;) After school I was hanging out with Clara and we were playing "hide and seek" with the kids. Then I tought her a bit of German because the only thing she could say was "I'm a potato" or "Ich bin eine Kartoffel" and that's weird... But that's why I love her! :)... And I'm kinda weird too..to be honest ;P 

Today was a good day, too :) We had Young Women's in the afternoon and we were making mini pizzas and we were painting our fingernails :) An we had soda :) 

I don't know what's gonna happen during the next few days, but on Saturday I'll go up north and watch my first College Football Game with Young Women's :)) It's gonna be so awesome because Clara will come too and Paige and some other super awesome girls :))

So I'll probably write my next post on Sunday and not in 2 days, but I'm not sure yet :))

How are you guys doin'? I'm very proud of myself that I found time to write a new post! It really was a good idea, to write something every 2nd day!! ;)

So.. Since my last post, nothing really happened :D On Friday, I watched the play "West Side Story". It was a play, performed by people from my high school and an other high school in the same city. It was soo freaking awesome because they were performing it soooo well!!! And it was also very funny to run through Walmart after that because it was like 10:30 pm, we were super tired, Clara an me couldn't really breath because o our cold, so.. We looked fabulous!! :) On Saturday we went to a little birthday party. The girl turned 6 :) After we went home, we played a bit. Today I went to church (Stack Conference) and tonight we went to the little girls' birthday party again!! :)And now that we're home, we are all ready for bed. In fact... I'm lying in my bed right now, while all the other people are still upstairs and awake!!But it was great fun😥😉

Hey strangers!! :)

Hi guys! :(

So, first of all, I'm really, really sorry that I only posted like two things since I'm here, but I'm just super happy!! After Anna gave me the advice to try to post something everyday, I decided to TRY (!) it!! :) I think it'll be so much easier because I would probably know, what to write about :D

Okay.. So this time, I'm gonna write something about the last month, so October:

The October went by soooo fast! It's just crazy! The first week wasn't that interesting, which means that it was interesting for ME because I see and learn so many new things everyday, but it probably won't be interesting for you guys out there in Germany! So the only important thing was my mom's birthday ;) After that it was my aunt's birthday :) Okay. Whatever. So October, 18, was Clara's birthday and it was just awesome! Danielle and me made an amazing birthday cake one day before Clara's birthday and I got some little presents. Then on her birthday, we went to her house and surprised her with the cake and some presents and we were singing Happy Birthday :)) After that she came to my house and Danielle, Clara and me watched a movie and just had fun! :) (We were playing with my little (host) siblings, too, of course!! ;) ) The week after that, on the 23rd of October, we had our first Choir concert! The topic was kinda like "Africa" and it was just amazingly awesome!!!! We were singing two traditional South-African songs ("Tschotscholoza" & "Nginangina"), "Keep your lamps" and "Africa" from Toto!! It's a song from the 80s or something and I just love it!! :) We were wearing gowns! It was just an amazing feeling, standing there on stage, wearing a teal-colored gown with a golden sash on it!! :) Love it!!! So.. The concert was amazing and we got many compliments from other students, parents and teachers. It also was a combined-choir concert, which means that all different choirs of our school sing their songs and then in the end we sang "Africa" together, so there were like 250 people, singing this beautiful song at the same time!! Sorry, that I'm repeating myself so much, but it was AMAZING!!! :) Our school has a "Madrigals" choir and only the best Juniors and Seniors can sing in this choir, which means that this is the BEST choir in the whole school. My best friend Clara is in "Madrigals" and she had a solo: AWESOME!! They sang a song called "Earth Song" by Frank Ticheli and it's so beautiful, so I...No!...everyone had to cry!! :)...Now is the time to look it up and to listen to it. You don't even have to understand what they're singing, just listen and relax!! (The real version is the one called "EARTH SONG by Frank Ticheli- CENTRAL ISLIP" on YouTube!!)

Okay. Anyways... :)The days after the concert weren't that good because my little host cousin Austin died. He was only 12 days old and it made me sad too.. :(

Then there was Halloween and it was awesome. I went trick or treating with my little siblings and my host parents and my host uncle Jonny's family! :) (Yep! Our family is huuuuuge!! :) ) So, we went trick or treating all together and with was great fun!! :) An then it became November and with the November, the snow came too!! We had snow on November 4 and we still have some!! We don't have that much, but there's still a thin layer of snow in our yard :) And tomorrow is my granny's birthday!! ALLES GUTE, OMA!!! :) HAB' DICH LIEB!!! :)) ❤️

So.. I guess, that was everything for now :) I'll really try to post something every second day, though! :)

Hey guys!! :)

I'm so sorry I didn't write something down in my blog so far, but I'm so busy and to be honest: What shall I write?? :)

I have such a great time here!!!

Maybe I can tell you a typical day in school and after school:

I have to get up at 5.30 am and my bus comes at 6.30 one or two blocks away. I prefer to walk down to the bus stop, but usually my host momma has to drive me down because I'm late :) Yeah... That's me :D In the bus everybody has his own seat and we're not allowed o switch 'em, but Cindy (our bus driver) told us that we (high schoolers) are allowed to switch around seats as long as we won't tell the middle schoolers that we're allowed to do it :D The bus drive to school is always a bit quietly because most of the people try to have a nap during the one-hour-drive. Clara (my best friend), Raul, Danielle and me and sometimes two other people are always joking and laughing and telling stories from the day before. :)

We arrive at the school at 7.35 am and then Clara and me are walking through the school and meet Alyssa. Our school is built like two circles so it's normal to meet the same person 6 times before the first bell rings :D

When the first bell rings we're going to our classes. On A-Days I have U.S. History first. :) The class starts at 7.50 am and ends at 9.17am. Then we have 5 minutes to go to our next class. First I have been late all the time because I had problems to find my classes, but after Clara showed me my classes 4 times and after 2 weeks of practicing I got it :D

The second class starts at 9.22 am and it's Foods 1 on A-Days :) We (all American schools) have "tardy bells". It's the second bell which rings and if you're not in your class at this time you got a tardy, what means that you're late and maybe miss a Bell Quiz or can't hand in Bell Work and can't get the credits for it. So: Be on time!!! :)

The second class ends at 10.51 am. Then we have lunchtime till 11.41 am. The whole "school lunch thing" first confused me and I had no lunch the first day because Clara had a meeting and I had nobody to show me how I could get lunch. But I wasn't hungry so it was okay :) After lunch I have Human Biology on A-Days. The class starts at 11.41 am and ends at 1.08 pm. This class is very hard because of the words they use for body parts and I got the feeling that they're smarter in Biology than Germans are :D After this there's the fourth period and it's A Capella (Choir) on A-Days. A Capella is definitely my favorite class!!! It's soooo awesome!!! People, if you have the chance to take a choir class, take it!!!! It's so awesome!!!!! :)

This class ends at 2.40 pm and school is over. We have to be in our bus till 2.50 pm, but I think it's no big deal, if you're late :) The bus ride home takes one hour again and this is my favorite hour of the whole day!!!!! Today I almost died in the bus from laughing!!!! It's so fun!!!!!!! :) I love all the people in my bus. Two are scary because they only stare at us and never say something, but it's good :)

I walk home from my bus stop together with Danielle and two of her younger siblings. The walk home is always funny too because Danielle is awesome!!!!! We have so many insider jokes, nobody will ever understand!!!!! :D

I'm home at 4 pm, I guess. Then I usually do my homework and study for tests on the next day :) I do it in my own room on my bed which is very comfy!!!! :) I have no books to carry home with me. Actually, I only need a book in two classes :D

After I finish my homework I use to play with my younger host brothers and sisters or just sit and watch "Team Umizoomi" with my whole host family :D

Sometimes Clara comes over and we play checkers or just hang out or she has dinner with me and my family. In the evening I go to bed and that's my day :)

On the weekend we used to go camping for hunting, but now the bow hunting season is over :) So I'll hang out with friends on Saturday or go to St. George with my host fam and on Sunday we go to church :))

I really love the church!!! Everybody is so awesome and I think we shouldn't judge about Mormons like we use to do!!!! They are normal people!! The difference is that they have high standards, what means that they don't say swear words and don't date till they're 16 years old and don't drink alcohol. To everybody who's afraid to live with Mormons during his/her exchange year: Don't worry!!! They are normal people who accept every religion!!! Believe me: it's the best thing which can ever happen to you!!! :)

Now I don't know what to write....

Wait!!! My host parents will compete in a Relay Race from Friday to Saturday so Clara will maybe come over and we'll watch the kids and have fun!!! :)

To all of my friends and my family:

I LOVE YA!!!!!!!! :) I feel bad because I'm not homesick yet, but I think you can handle it ;) (By the way, I knocked on wood three times, so I won't get homesick ;) )

I'm still alive!!!! :)

Hey guys!! :)

Yes, I'm still out there. Sometimes in the middle of nowhere, but I'm there!! :)

I'm soooo sorry that I didn't write anything for more than a week now, but I was so busy and still am!! When I'll find a little space in my life here, I'll post something about the flight and the five hours at the Newark Airport in NYC, but its 10 pm and I have to go to bed, because tomorrow I have to get up at 5.30 am!!! My bus will come at 6.30!!! But I don't care... As long as I can have a nap in the bus or something like that :)

I'll give you a short view on my time in Utah:

Last Thursday my plane arrived one hour too late in Las Vegas. After a confusing trip with the tram to the wrong terminal and the wrong baggage claim a policeman helped me out and I finally arrived at the right terminal and on the right baggage claim. My host family was still there and waiting for me. We were all so excited to meet that the little boy ran against a wall... I'm sorry, but it was sooo funny and we were all laughing. :) The ice was fast broken cuz' my host dad was looking for me and got lost somewhere in the terminal. He arrived my host family a short time after I did and when he told me that he got lost while searching me we couldn't stand it and started to giggle so that other people at the baggage claim stared at us!! :D

Then we walked to the car and it was so hot in Las Vegas!!!! They took me to the Las Vegas strip and everyone was just staring at the crazy people of Las Vegas... I've never seen something like this before!! It was awesome!!! :)

We arrived at "home" at 2.30 at night... or in the morning? :)

I couldn't sleep so I put all my things out of the baggage and into my closet (it's not a toilet!!!!!!) and then fell asleep after the done work! Mama, you can be proud of me!! :)

The following week was busy, busy and busy. But it was so fun!!! I can't imagine a better host family than the one I have!!!!

I bought a school bag, pencils (but no pencil sharpener :D) and new earphones because my other ones broke on the flight to New York :(

I got a wonderful lamp!!!! Green with flowers :) 

I survived my first day at school which has been the second day for all the other students, because my organization in the U.S. didn't tell my host mum that we had to register me in school. My appointment to choose my classes has been on the usual first school day. But it was no problem, because nothing really matters and happens on the first two school days :)

As I said I'm looking forward to post something, but I'm still busy :)

GASTFAMILIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Man! Endlich kann ich es schreiben: GASTFAMILIE!!! :D
Ich habe heute meine große Gastfamilie bekommen. Es kam sooo plötzlich! Ich hab nur durch Zufall gesehen, dass mein Name nicht mehr auf der "Liste der Familienlosen" steht und bin morgens um 7 schon halb ausgetickt! :D Heute bei der Arbeit (bei meinem Vater) hat er mich ins Zimmer geholt, mir einen Zettel mit einer Telefonnummer hingeschoben und gefragt, ob ich diese Nummer kenne. Irgendwann hab ich gerafft, dass es die Nummer von meiner Organisation in Frankfurt ist!! Ich hab meinen Vater erstmal ausgequetscht und er hat es mir dann erzählt: Ich komme in einen kleinen Ort in Utah mit ca. 270 Einwohnern. Die nächstgrößere Stadt, in der ich zur Schule gehen werde, hat sogar einen Flughafen und ist nicht weit weg von "Zuhause". Die Eltern sind 31 und 34 und haben vier kleine Kinder von 9 Jahren abwärts (3 Mädchen, 1 Junge)!! :)
ICH FREUE MICH SOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Ich fliege entweder am 6.8. oder am 8.8., also in weniger als einer Woche!! :O Die Schule fängt nämlich schon am 15.8. an!!
Ihre Hobbies sind Campen und Wandern und Familienausflüge. Wahrscheinlich sind sie Mormonen, aber ich find's cool :))

Ich hab noch nicht sooo viele Infos. Wenn ich mehr weiß, blogge ich noch mal für euch!!

Visumsbeantragung in Berlin :))

Hallo Leute!! :)

Wie der Titel schon sagt kommt jetzt endlich mal der Eintrag zum Visums-Termin.
Ich bin am Freitagmorgen vom Hotel aus mit der U-Bahn zum Konsulat gefahren. Um Punkt 8:30 Uhr stand ich hinter 10 anderen Austauschschülern in der Schlange (Mein Interviewtermin war um 8:30 Uhr) . Schon vor dem "Einlass" kam ein Typ rum und hat jedem einen Zettel gegeben auf dem draufstand, wie man die unterlagen zu ordnen hat. Keine Panik!! Man muss dafür kein Sortier-Genie sein :D Sieht nur so aus :P
Nach und nach wurden die Leute in 4er-Gruppen reingebracht. Ich war in einer Gruppe zusammen mit drei weiteren Austauschschülern...Also ca. 80 % aller im Konsulat anwesenden Personen waren Austauschschüler :D Zuerst wurden wir von einem Polizisten (?) abgezählt und dann wurde hinter uns Vieren das Absperrband wieder zugezogen. Dann ging es im Entenmarsch zu einer Sicherheitskontrolle, die eigentlich genauso wie am Flughafen ist: Taschen zusammen mit Jacke, Gürtel, Armbändern usw in eine Kiste, in den Scanner (?) schieben und dann durch dieses komische "Scan-Tor", "Piep-Dings" oder wie es auch immer heißen mag gehen. Dann hat uns der "Polizist" ~ nennen wir ihn "Larry" ~ gesagt, wie man ins Konsulat reinkommt. Larry konnte aber leider nicht mit rein kommen :D Wir mussten erst durch eine Tür gehen, dann kam eine weitere Tür, wo man aber erst klingeln musste (!!!!!) und dann musste man ein kleines Stück zu einer dritten Tür (Die Amis haben's halt mit ihren Türen :D) gehen. Da hat dann eine Frau auf uns gewartet die riiiichtig nett war. Echt mal!! Die war total putzig. Die hat gesagt: "Kommt mal her, meine Süßen. Habt ihr auch alles richtig geordnet? So.. stellt euch jetzt mal bitte genau an dieses Absperrband. Super!" Das alles in so einem Oma-Ton. :)
Dann standen wir eben in einer Schlange und haben auf unser Interview gewartet. Als ich dran war, bin ich zu einer Frau gegangen, die hinter einer Glasscheibe saß. Die hat mir dann gesagt, dass ich meinen Pass und noch so ein paar andere Sachen in so ein Fach legen sollte. Dann hat sie sich die Sachen genommen und kurz was draufgeschrieben und irgendwas zusammengeheftet. Ich hab von ihr dann zwei Zettel bekommen und sollte mich in den großen Wartebereich setzen. Auf dem blauen Zettel stand, was die beim Interview fragen könnten und auf was man sich gefasst machen muss. Der andere war eher ein Prospekt, in dem stand, welche Rechte man in den USA als Austauschschüler hat - auf Englisch!! Da habe ich erstmal ordentlich was zum Lesen gehabt :D Ich wurde schon nach 5 Minuten aufgerufen, was ziemlich schnell ist, da dort noch einige Schüler saßen, die vor mir schon dort saßen. Das Aufrufen funktioniert so, dass immer der Name gesagt wird und der Schalter, an den der-/diejenige kommen soll. Also z.B. "Anne Müller, Schalter 7" oder so. Das klingt zwar uninteressant, ist es aber nicht! Die rufen dich mit einem tiefst amerikanischen Akzent auf, was ziiiiemlich lustig ist :D Man geht dann eben zum Schalter und setzt sich hin. Dann begrüßt dein Interviewer dich und fragt standardmäßig, warum du in die USA einreisen möchtest. Dann kommen noch die Fragen, ob du schon einmal in den USA warst, ob du schon weißt, wo genau du hinkommen wirst usw. . Bei mir war alles auf Deutsch. Entweder hatte ich Glück, oder das ist in Berlin einfach so :D ich hab einfach ganz normal geantwortet und nachdem er alles gefragt hatte, hat er mit einem strahlenden Lächeln gesagt, dass mein Visum genehmigt wäre. Yiiiiihaa!!! :)) Den blauen Zettel musste ich dann zusammen mit der Information, wie man seine Unterlagen zu sortieren hat, bei der netten Frau abgeben. Das Info-Material über meine Rechte durfte ich behalten. Na Herzlichen Dank auch :D Wollte ich schon immer mal haben :D
Ich bin dann rausgegangen und Larry war sehr freundlich. Er hat mir den Ausgang (ein Drehkreuz) gezeigt und einen schönen Tag gewünscht :D
Dann hab ich mit meiner Mutter noch ein Wochenende Berlin-Urlaub drausgemacht...Natürlich mit der Begründung, dass sich die Fahrt nach Berlin sonst nicht gelohnt hätte ;D


Sooooo... Das war's auch schon wieder. Ich hab heute gesehen, dass ich jetzt schon weit über 600 Seitenaufrufe habe, was mich ziiemlich erstaunt hat! Hätte nie damit gerechnet, dass jemand, der nicht zum Freundes- oder Familienkreis gehört sich meinen Blog reinzieht :D Deshalb möchte ich mich bei allen bekannten und unbekannten Lesern bedanken :) Ich freue mich wirklich, dass dieser Blog Anklang findet!! :) Wenn ihr irgendwelche Fragen habt: Bitte FRAGT einfach!! Keine Scheu. :P

Sooo.. Jetzt ist die Schule auch erstmal wieder geschafft :) EEEENDLICH!!!!!! :D

Ich hab' heute erstmal eine Weile vor meiner Schule gestanden und den Gedanken ausgekostet, dass ich in diesem 70er-Jahre-Bau mit den uringelben Vorhängen (meist abgerissen) und Wänden und den kotzgrünen... Sorry: "kaki-farbenen"... Heizungen das nächste Schuljahr nicht sitzen werde, sondern im "Ami-Land" in einer Schule mit hoffentlich appetitlicheren Wandfarben mein Schuljahr verbringe. :D

Heute gab's dann auch die langersehnten (haha) Zeugnisse. <-- Der Satz trifft nur so vor Sarkasmus!! ;P

Naja... Ein Dreierschnitt ist nicht schlimm :))

Wie man in der Überschrift lesen kann habe ich leider immernoch keine Gastfamilie... das Beste kommt halt zum Schluss!! :DD 

Das einzig Doofe an der Sache ist nur, dass man noch nichts wirklich planen kann. Aber ich bin ja eine überzeugte Optimistin, also geht das schon!! :)

Am Montag hatte ich Geburtstag und es kamen Verwandte aus Kanada zu uns :)) Wir haben dann den ganzen Tag nur Englisch geredet. Dieser Tag hat mich extrem weiter gebracht. Eine Angst von mir war, dass ich totale Schwierigkeiten am Anfang haben würde. Ich bin zwar ziemlich gut in Englisch, aber man macht sich ja trotzdem auch Gedanken, ob das alles auch so geht!! :) Nach diesem ganzen Tag wusste ich, dass ich mir keine Sorgen machen muss. Klar war's am Anfang merkwürdig einfach so in seiner vertrauten, deutschen Umgebung Englisch zu reden! Trotzdem... Nach ner Stunde hat man sich dran gewöhnt und es war einfach super schön vor dem Abflug schonmal zu "proben" :D

Meine Vater und ich haben uns zusammen durch die VISA-Beantragung gekämpft: DANKE, PAPA!!! :))

Immer diese aufwendige Bürokratie. Erst das DS-160 ausfüllen und abschicken. Das DS-160 ist eine Art "Bewerbung", in der alle Daten abgefragt werden und gefragt wird, ob man ein Terrorist ist oder vorhat einer zu werden... Das Übliche halt :DD Das macht man im Internet und fühlt sich dabei, als würde man die Server des FBI's oder der CIA hacken, weil das so...so...ach das ist einfach so eine komische Seite, die voll mit USA-Flaggen und irgendwelchen Wappen und ähnlichem sind...wie in so einer Serie wie Navy CIS oder so :D 

Dann muss man eine VISA- und eine SEVIS-Gebühr zahlen (Falls ich irgendwann nochmal verstehen sollte, was das beides ist, werde ich es hier reinschreiben!! :) Versprochen!!). Man braucht auch noch das        DS-2019, was einem von der Organisation zugeschickt wird. Das ist auch nochmal so ein Formblatt mit persönlichen Daten drauf, welche denke ich mal auch auf dem Visum stehen werden.

Dann muss man natürlich noch einen Termin beim Amerikanischen Konsulat in Berlin, Frankfurt oder München vereinbaren. Ich hab' meinen Termin in Berlin nächste Woche Freitag in Berlin. Ich schreibe nach dem Termin dann auch nochmal, wie das so abläuft, weil ich denke, dass es so manchen interessiert :))

Der Termin ist allerdings so früh, dass meine Eltern und ich schon Am Donnerstag losfahren müssen. :/

"Der frühe Vogel fängt den Wurm??" Den Spruch habe ich schon immer gehasst...auch wenn er wahr ist :D

Okay :) Das ist jetzt schon wieder ein ziiiiemlich langer Blogeintrag geworden :)

Vorbereitungstreffen :)

Halli, hallo :)

Wie versprochen melde ich mich nach dem Vorbereitungstreffen wieder. Die sog. "High School Orientation" ging von vorgestern bis gestern, also übers Wochenende.
Ich weiß ehrlich gesagt gar nicht, wie und vor allem wo ich anfangen soll, denn es war so viel "Input", was Kaplan uns da geliefert hat! Ich kann mich an nicht so viel erinnern, eben weil es so viel war. :D Nicht das ihr das jetzt falsch versteht: Es heißt nicht, dass es nicht lustig war und Spaß gemacht hat! :) Das hat es nämlich (meistens) :P

Also:

Am Samstagmorgen bin ich - ohne Zwischenfälle :) - zum Veranstaltungsort gefahren. Als ich aus dem Zug stieg, sah ich viele andere Schüler, die genauso suchend umherschauten wie ich. Wir haben dann irgendwann bemerkt, dass wir alle aus demselben Anlass in der Kälte zitterten und ging den Bahnsteig weiter rauf, wo wir eine größere Gruppe trafen, die ihre Namen einer Betreuerin sagten, die diese dann abhakte. Zusammen sind wir dann auf einen anderen Bahnsteig gelaufen, der direkt an der Straße lag. Wir mussten noch ca. 30 Minuten auf den ganzen Rest warten und dann ging es mit einem alten Linienbus in die Jugendherberge.
Im Bus wurde dann auch gesagt, wer mit wem in einem Zimmer ist, was ziemlich lustig war, weil viele Leute nichts gehört oder einfach nur nicht zugehört haben. :D
An der Jugendherberge angekommen wurden nur eben schnell die Koffer/Taschen aufs Zimmer gebracht und dann mussten wir auch schon wieder runter.

Wir wurden in zwei Gruppen aufgeteilt: "Berlin" und "Bremen" - wegen der beiden Konferenzräume dort, die so hießen. Diese beiden Gruppen sind dann auch gleich bei einem Spiel gegeneinander angetreten.
Die Zeit bis zum Mittagessen haben wir dann in den Gruppen verbracht. Meine Gruppe hat Fragen gestellt, die dann auf ein riesiges Blatt geschrieben wurden.
Nach dem Mittag haben wir glaube ich so Sachen wie "Kulturschock" oder das "Eisbergmodell" geredet und viel in Gruppenarbeit gemacht. Zum Beispiel haben wir uns in 4er-Gruppen überlegt, welche Gastfamilienkonstellationen es denn so geben könnte, wie die regeln der Gastfamilie aussehen können usw. ...

Wie gesagt erinnere ich mich nicht mehr so gut. Ich schreibe einfach mal kreuz-und-quer weiter :)

Beim Abendessen hingen Profile von uns an den Wänden, die wir morgens ausfüllen sollten. Auf denen standen Basisinfos, wie z.B. "Wohnort" oder "Schule", aber auch persönlichere Dinge, wie z.B. "größtes Idol" oder sowas drauf. Es sollte simulieren, dass man bei Facebook vorsichtig, vorsichtig und nochmal vorsichtig sein soll, denn wenn die potentielle Gastfamilie Partyfotos von euch entdeckt sind sie "not amused" und springen höchstwahrscheinlich und verständlicherweise ab.

Abends haben wir dann noch irgendetwas gemacht, was ich allerdings leider vergessen habe. Falls es mir irgendwann noch einmal einfallen sollte - was ich nicht glaube :D -, werde ich diesen Post nochmal überarbeiten. :)

Am nächsten Morgen sind wir dann um 8 Uhr aufgestanden, weil wir bis 9 Uhr gefrühstückt und Betten abgezogen haben mussten und mit all unserem Hab und Gut im großen Konferenzraum stehen sollten. Die ganzen Taschen lagen dann in einer Ecke, die dann wie eine Ecke in meinem Zimmer aussah :D

Wir haben dann jeder ein T-Shirt bekommen und es wurde ein bzw. drei Gruppenfotos gemacht! :) Zusammen mit den Shirts haben wir auch jeder eine Mappe bekommen, in der ein "Handbook" und viele andere Sachen noch drin waren. Drei Zettel mussten wir ausgefüllt bzw. unterschrieben wieder abgeben.
Um 14 Uhr kamen die Eltern und wurden (in einem anderen Raum) über solche Sachen, wie Taschengeld usw. informiert. All sowas halt... :)
Währenddessen haben wir (zukünftigen) Austauschschüler und zwei Returnees (ehemalige Austauschschüler) einen Sitzkreis gemacht und die Fragen, die wir am Samstag aufgeschrieben hatten, besprochen. Es wurden auch alle gut beantwortet und die beiden Returnees haben uns auch einige Erfahrungen geschildert. :)
Wir haben ziemlich viel gelacht! :D Lustig waren vor allem die Geschichten über amerikanische Mitschüler der Returnees, die diese während ihrer Zeit gefragt haben, ob es denn in Deutschland Licht, Autos oder so etwas wie Kühlschränke gäbe. :D :D Naja...Kein Kommentar.. :P
Dann gab es "Kaffee & Kuchen", besser gesagt "Kaffee & Donuts" :)

Nach dieser "Kaffeemahlzeit" haben wir noch die Fragen zuende besprochen und mussten uns gegen 18 Uhr von den Returnees und den Leuten, die nicht in die USA gehen verabschieden. Für die USA-Schüler und ihre Eltern, gab es noch einen 30 Minuten-Vortrag über die Beantragung eines Visums.
Der Ablauf ist zwar ziemlich kompliziert, aber ohne geht halt auch nicht so ganz! :P
(Zum Visum erzähle ich so gegen Juni/Juli noch etwas :) )

Frohe Ostern... Und nicht viel Neues :P

Erst einmal Frohe Ostern (nachträglich :P)!!!
Ich wollte mich mal wieder melden...

Eigentlich ist nicht so viel passiert. Ab dem 16.3. hatten wir schon wieder Ferien. Ich habe viele produktive Sachen gemacht!!^^ (haha) Jaja... Die Ferien mal wieder. Der Schweinehund und sein Herrchen Herr Faulheit lassen grüßen!! :D

Naja. Kurz vor Ostern kam noch ein Brief von meiner Organisation, wo drin stand, dass die Zuständigen in den USA wissen wollen, auf welchem Level ich Bogenschießen mache und was für Preise ich gewonnen habe. Außerdem brauchte ich noch eine Hepatitis-A-Impfung! Impfen ist zwar nervig, aber das wird ja wohl (hoffentlich!!!) die letzte Impfung vor Amerika sein. Gestern habe ich dann eine Mail zurückgeschickt und auch den Brief, den ich auf Englisch schreiben sollte, als Anhang hinzugefügt (Jaha!! Ich hab' dran gedacht!! ;) ).

Nächste Woche Samstag und Sonntag ist dann endlich das Vorbereitungstreffen! :) Yeah!! Ich freu mich schon sowas von darauf! Das wird bestimmt richtig gut!! :)

Ich habe heute mal in meinem Schulplaner einen "Countdown" erstellt und festgestellt, dass es bis zum letzten Schultag vor den Sommerferien nur noch 82 Tage sind. :)
Als potentielles Abflugdatum habe ich einfach mal den 15. August im Kopf, weil die meisten im August fliegen und dann auch die Vorbereitungstage in New York sind (3x im August - glaube ich - ). Bis dahin wären es noch 132 Tage. Das hört sich zwar viel an, aber wir haben jetzt schon April!! Es kommt mir wie gestern vor,als ich den Tuberkulose-Test gemacht habe, obwohl es vor 2 Monaten war! Die Zeit rennt echt.. Es gibt Tage, an denen man denkt: "Oh Gott! Das ist noch verdammt lange hin!" Aber manchmal denkt man auch: "Hä?! Das war doch nicht vor 3 Monaten! das ist höchstens 2 1/2 Wochen her!!"

Tja. Erst vergeht die Zeit zu langsam, dann vergeht die Zeit zu schnell... Uns Menschen kann man es nie Recht machen... Das gilt zwar nicht für alle, aber seien wir mal ehrlich: Mindestens 90 % geht es so! :P
Wie beim Schnee: An Weihnachten zu wenig, dann ist es im März auch schon wieder zu viel... Okay. :D

Ich bin's mal wieder. Ich dachte, dass heute ein schöner Tag (wortwörtlich!) wäre, um mal wieder einen Blogeintrag zu schreiben.
Eigentlich gibt es nicht viel Neues zu erzählen... Mh...Achja:

DER FRÜHLING IST ENDLICH BEI UNS ANGEKOMMEN!!!!! WUHUU!!! :)

Wurde aber auch mal Zeit! Immer diese Kälte, der Nebel und dieses ewige Grau! Bäh! :D
Heute sind's endlich mal wieder 15°C, die Sonne gibt ihr allerbestes und es ist knackeblauer Himmel...Also wie ein normaler Sommertag bei uns :D

Naja. Jedenfalls steigt die allgemeine Motivation wieder.

Also am 13. & 14. April ist - wie ich glaube ich schon erwähnt habe -  das Vorbereitungstreffen in ROW. Darauf freue ich mich schon total! Wird bestimmt super!! :) Jetzt im März müsste auch noch irgendwann eine genauere Info von meiner Orga kommen, also z.B., wann wir da genau antanzen müssen/dürfen/(was auch immer) oder auch, wie der Ablauf ist. Dann kommt halt noch der stressige Mai (Arbeiten ohne Ende!) und dann der Juni und daaaann..... FERIEN!!! :) Ich muss nur noch überlegen, was ich in der ganzen Zeit machen soll, weil die Ferien schon am 27. Juni anfangen. wenn ich nämlich erst Ende August oder so fliegen sollte, müsste ich sonst fast zwei Monate zu Hause hocken. Das ist dann auch schon wieder zu viel des Guten!! :P Ich werde wahrscheinlich dann ein Praktikum machen. Ist wenigstens etwas Sinnvolles! Wir fahren nicht weg, weil wir nicht wirklich einen Urlaub buchen können. Meine Eltern fahren also erst irgendwann im September weg.
Das Abflugdatum werde ich hoffentlich schon Anfang Juni bekommen. Wäre super lieb von dir, Kaplan! :) Oder Ende Juni zum Geburtstag! :D

Heute sind es noch genauuuu... 194 Tage bis zum spät möglichsten Abflugtermin. Ich werde zwar hoffentlich schon im August fliegen, weil die New York-Vorbereitungscamps alle drei im August sind (Anfang, Mitte & Ende), aber ich werde den 15. September einfach mal als "Countdown-Ende" nehmen. :)

Also: Noch 194 Tage!!! Hört sich viel an, ist es vielleicht auch, aber als Austauschschüler ist man das Warten irgendwann gewöhnt. Ist ja auch das letzte große Warten!!! :)

Jah.....Achso! Es sind schon fast Osterferien! :)) Nur noch diese und nächste Schulwoche und dann erstmal 2 Wochen FREI!! :)

Endlich! Wir sind alle schon sowas von ferienreif!!! Nächste Woche ist die Mottowoche des Abi-Jahrganges! Sind zwar die selben Mottos wie immer, aber  wird trotzdem lustig! :)

Heute - am 15. Februar - wurden also meine ganzen gefühlt 100 Blätter Bewerbungsunterlagen, die Fotos und das Fotoalbum in die USA geschickt.

Die Gastfamiliensuche kann beginnen. Törö, törööö!!! :D

Nee, jetzt mal im Ernst. Ich bin total aufgeregt! Ich hoffe einfach mal, dass die Gastfamilien es nicht sooo schwer haben werden, aus uns ganzen Austauschschülerinnen und -schülern jemanden für seine Familie auszuwählen. :)

Bis zum spät-möglichsten Abflugtermin sind es heute noch genau....212 Tage!! :P
Naja... diese Zeit geht bestimmt auch (leider?) schnell vorbei.

Bald ist erstmal Ostern... und Ferien natürlich auch!! :D Daaann der ganze Mai mit seinen 15.000 Feiertagen. Daaann kommt der Juni (und mein 16. Geburtstag!! :) ) und daaan sind auch am 27.6. schon wieder die Sommerferien dran. :)


Jah..... sonst gibt es eigentlich nichts Neues. (Man bin ich heute wieder kreativ!! :D)

Ich bin's mal wieder. :P
Alsooo... Ich war gestern beim Ablesen des TB - Testes und es ist alles in Ordnung. Kein "Huckel-Heini" und auch nichts anderes, nur das alberne Kuli-Kästchen mit einem winzig kleinen roten Pünktchen.
Der Arzt hat einmal schnell darauf geguckt, ein paar Fragen gestellt, das Testergebnis auf dem Zettel eingetragen (negativ! :) ) und dann durfte ich auch schon gehen.

Eigentlich ist es ganz schön, dass ich (gerade) nichts mehr auszufüllen, schreiben oder unterschreiben habe, aber irgendwie auch nicht. Meine Anmeldung zur Orientation wurde bestätigt und ich bekomme im März genauere Infos. Das heißt also, dass ich dann gesagt bekomme, wann und wo das stattfindet (okay: Rothenburg/Wümme :D) und was ich vielleicht mitbringen muss. Dann muss ich mich wieder einen Monat gedulden, bis die Orientation ist und DANN kommen wahrscheinlich diese ganzen Schüler- und Elternhandbücher und -prospekte ins Haus geschneit. Das war's dann wieder bis Juli, wenn ich mein Visum beantragen muss!

Ich richte mich jetzt mal wieder an diejenigen, die auch mal ein Auslandsjahr machen wollen:
Fakt ist: Es - ist - ein - Geduldsspiel!!! Ist nun mal so!!!
ABER.... Ich denke, es lohnt sich. Also immer schön ruhig bleiben (Ich weiß. Gilt auch für mich! :D )
und abwarten. Der Spruch der glaube ich gerade am meisten hilft ist:

"Vorfreude ist die schönste Freude." (von keine Ahnung)

Soo.. Was kann ich denn noch so erzählen..... Ach ja! Ich bin dabei, mir einen Kalender anzulegen, auf dem ich jeden Tag bis Amerika abkreuze. *freu* :)
Ich weiß zwar noch nicht, wo ich hinkomme und wann ich genau fliege (Juli bis spätestens 15. September), aber da ich Anfang Juli mein Visum beantragen muss, werde ich glaube ich den 15. Juli als Abflugdatum nehmen.
(Man! wär's nicht cool, wenn das wirklich mein Abflugdatum wird? :D)
